Gary Vaughn-  Thursday, July 17th
Modern

Gary Vaughn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Dance Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.   Currently working with Ballet Rox in Boston.  Gary was also a member of the United States Hip Hop Team and represented the US at the International Dance Organization (IDO) Hip Hop
Days 2006 in Bremen, Germany as Team Captain.  In 2007, Mr. Vaughn Formed and built Abstractimagination.com (Ai), becoming his proudest accomplishment to date.
 
Having danced since the age of 7, Gary now uses his skills to combine his visual art talent with dance to create ³art in motion².  Living throughout the Midwest and East he was exposed to numerous teachers and styles and never locked in to one in particular.  This is evident in the unique choreography he sets for Ai.
 
Gary has had the privilege of studying with some of the country¹s best teachers and choreographers in all disciplines, Ballet to Hip Hop SS.. Eva Szabo, Andrew Pap, Kim Bears-Bailey, Brian Sanders, Ronan Koresh, Rennie Harris and LaVaughn Robinson, to name a few.

 
 

Bryan Steele, - Thursday, July 24th  
Modern

Bryan Steele has been teaching in the Chelmsford area for the past 13 years.  He has been on the faculties of Boston Ballet, Walnut Hill School, Dance Productions, New Hampshire School of Ballet to name just a few.  Currently on the faculty oat Dean College, Bryan has taught master classes throughout the United States, Germany, Venezuela, France, Ecuador and Spain.  Bryan has been choreographing for competitive groups and professional companies for over 15 years.  He has won numerous awards on a regional, national and international level.  He has self-produced 6 concerts of his own work in the Boston area.  His dances have been set on Prometheus Dance Company, Company of Two, Wheaton College Dance Company, Boston Ballet, Walnut Hill and other local companies.  Bryan has recently retired from performing.  Some of the companies he had the pleasure of dancing with are Prometheus, Impulse, Island Moving Company, Ariel Dance Theatre, Body Language Dancers, Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble and many other independent choreographers.  Bryan has also performed in hundreds of industrial shows, commercials and videos. For the past several years, Bryan has enjoyed judging for Olympic Miss and Dance Xplosion dance competitions.   Bryan takes all his experience from the professional companies; commercial work and master class teaching and brings this knowledge and love of the arts to his students at The Academy of Performing Arts, New England.

 

Katie Correia, - Thursday, July 31st
Musical Theater for Intermediates/ Jazz for Advanced

Katie Correia brings 24 years of dance and performance training as well as 12 years of teaching and choreography experience to the Academy of Performing Arts.  Katie has trained extensively throughout Greater Lowell, Boston, and New York in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Musical Theater.  Katie has choreographed and taught throughout New England for community groups and competitive teams, as well as professional companies and is much sought after for her outstanding work with children in Pre –dance levels.  Katie performed professionally throughout New England with many companies including The Body Language Dancers, The Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble, Granite State Ballet, Bay State Ballet, and also with many of the areas top choreographers.  The knowledge she gained throughout her successful performance career has helped lead to an even more successful career as an internationally award winning choreographer.  In addition to much recognition for creative concepts and all – around entertainment, Katie’s choreography, which has been televised throughout the country, has won top national and international awards.  For the past two years, Katie has enjoyed judging for Olympic Miss Dance Competitions throughout New England. Because of Katie’s creative ideas, love for children and dance, and inspiring teaching style, beginning through advanced students of all ages will benefit greatly from Katie’s knowledge and love for dance and theater.

Julie Fiorenza - Thursday, August 14h

JJulie was born in South Korea and grew up in Massachusetts where she trained at The Academy of Dance Arts in Norwood, and the Boston Ballet School.  In 2004, she graduated with honors from the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program in New York City and was named a Liberace scholar.  Julie has performed and taught throughout the country as a member of Ailey II, and has danced the works of noted choreographers Alvin Ailey, Judith Jamison, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Doug Varone, Robert Battle, and Dwight Rhoden, among others.  Most recently she toured the country as a member of Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company.  Last summer, Julie played the lead dance role of Eliza in  King and I at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine.  She currently resides in New York City and is an understudy for Mark Morris' Romeo & Juliet, On Motifs of Shakespeare, which had its world premiere at Bard College on July 4th.  This winter, Julie will perform in the Metropolitan Opera's Orfeo ed Euridice, choreographed by Mark Morris

Julie Blume - Wednesday, August 20th
Will cover all Jen’s Ballet + Jazz classes

Born and raised in New Hampshire she began her dance training at the New Hampshire School of Ballet under the direction of Jennifer Rienert. She went on to earn BFA aid from the University of Michigan . Julie danced with the Boston based Digby dance Company and has performed choreography by David Dorfman, Lar Lubovich, Peter Sparling and Sandra Torijano. Julie joined Parsons dance Company as a professional modern dancer in 2005.  The company is based out of New York City and travels the world.  Julie has been presented as a soloist and Costa Rica on multiple occasions, most recently opening for the Dalai Lama during the conference for peace at the national Theatre in San Jose. Most recently she has gone on tour with the company to Russia and Italy to perform.
